Our Curriculum at Killamarsh Infant and Nursery School

Our curriculum for our children.

The curriculum is all the planned learning that we plan and sequence in order to promote learning, personal growth and development. It includes not only the formal requirements of the National Curriculum but also the range of additional experiences, opportunities and learning that we carefully organise in order to help our children flourish.

Every year group within the school covers the full range of subjects from the National and Early Years Curriculum, including Religious Education.

The curriculum gives children the opportunity to achieve the highest possible standards of numeracy and literacy whilst ensuring they can become confident in physical, artistic, practical and social skills. We provide a broad and balanced education allowing for the individual needs of each child to be met within well-planned learning experiences.

In the section below you will find details of our Yearly Curriculum Overview for each year group. You can also explore the progressive plans that we are continually developing for each curriculum area so that children are given daily opportunities to apply their learning.

Our Curriculum Intent

All our staff use our curriculum to plan for our children to:

Know more, experience more, remember more and do more

Curriculum Planning

Curriculum planning involves all members of the teaching staff to ensure there is progression and continuity in learning as each child passes through the school and all our planning processes give due regard to the requirements of the National Curriculum.
