Week 2 - Science
Last week one of the children asked if we could do some experiments at outdoor club, the other children agreed...so that is what we did! We did two experiments, both involving reactions. Firstly, the coke and mint reaction experiment - we could tell a reaction had happened because lots of bubbles were produced, which are full of air, and so when they popped they caused lots of fizzing and the only way the coke could escape was out of the bottle top! Secondly, we did the inflating balloon experiment which is another reaction. We mixed vinegar, which is an acid, and bicarb, which is an alkaline and the reaction created bubbles which blew the balloon up on it's own!
