The Arctic!

Arctic Ocean Painting

We changed to shade of the blue...

...using white and black paint!

We noticed the colour get darker or lighter!

Snowy Owl

We learnt about the snowy owl using books and the internet.

We made snowy owls at the workshop using pine cones, cotton wool, and feathers.

We also drew snowy owls using chalk!

ICT

We drew our favourite arctic animals and remembered facts we had learnt about them!

Walrus

The children learnt why the walrus has tusks, whiskers and blubber..

...then made a walrus collage at the workshop!

The children worked together to create their walrus artwork!

At the playdough table the children remembered the facts...

...then made their own walrus using the playdough...

...and objects from the tray!

The children represented the tusks and whiskers brilliantly!

Maths

The children compared weights of objects they ‘found’ in the arctic!

Science

We learnt about global warming and how this affects the polar bears.

We used ice and a hot water bottle to show this!

We went on to investigate what could make ice melt faster and each made a prediction!
