Science Week outside on Welly Fun!

Duck, Duck, Goose

For Science Week, we changed duck and goose to birds in our environment!

Cloud Gazing!

We explored the different types of cloud...

...and made our own cloud gazer!

We looked through the little window...

...to spot the different clouds...

...and identify their type!

This was great fun!

Litter Picking Phonics!

For our outdoor phonics...

...we did a little pick!

We found some objects mixed in from nursery...

...and used these to practise our phonics!

We segmented the word with our robot arms...'c-u-p'

...and blended the sounds back together to say the word! 'cup'

Sunflower Seeds!

We each planted a sunflower seed in a pot whilst in our allotment!

We used one finger to put a hole in the soil for the seed...

...and then droppped the seed in!

We then made a sign for our seed pot...

...as these will be a Mother's Day present...shhh!

We also planted sunflower seeds in our allotment as they represent hope for people.

Hush Teddy's Clothes!

Hush Teddy wanted to join us on our Welly Fun session for Science Week...

...but Hush Teddy didn't have any suitable clothes...

...so we decided to make him some!

We thought about which materials would be most suitable...

...such as ones which are waterproof and ones which would keep him warm!

Hush Teddy ended up with foil welly boots, a plastic poncho, and a plastic cup hat!

Reflection

We finished the session by passing Hush Teddy around the circle to say what we enjoyed!
