Year 1 Science Week 2022 - Weather and the Climate

Our focus for British Science Week was the weather.  We have learnt about the differences between the weather and the climate.  We have discussed how some greenhouse gases are produced and the effect they have on our planet.  We looked at the ways climate change can affect the planet and researched ways to slow down and prevent climate change.

We made weather diaries including weather symbols and compared the actual weather each day against the local weather forecast. We looked at clouds and learnt that they are a mass of tiny water droplets or ice crystals that float in the air.  We made mini tornados and looked at other weather conditions.  We planted seeds outside to combat climate change.
