This week we are looking at the basics and writing good simple sentences about Autumn. Each day we will have different pictures that we will write about. Year One will look at their use of capital letters, finger spaces and full stops. Year Two will also need to ensure they have these, whilst also using and to join two sentences together. Use of our sounds to inform spellings is also really crucial.

 

 

Maths:

 

This week we will continue to look at addition. We will then extend both year one and two with calculations that are subtractions. 

 

Year One are expected to:

Part-whole model. Addition symbol. Fact families – addition facts. Find number bonds for numbers within 10. Systematic methods for number bonds within 10. Number bonds to 10. Compare number bonds. Add and subtract 10s.Add by making 10.Add a 2-digit and 1-digit number – crossing ten. Subtraction - crossing 10.Subtract a 1-digit number from a 2-digit number – crossing ten. Add two 2-digit numbers – not crossing ten – add ones and add tens. Add two 2-digit numbers – crossing ten – add ones and add tens. Subtract a 2-digit number from a 2-digit number – not crossing ten. Subtract a 2-digit number from a 2-digit number – crossing ten – subtract ones and tens. Find and make number bonds. Bonds to 100 (tens and ones). Add three 1-digit numbers.

This week we will be looking at Geography and naming, locating and identifying characteristics of the 4 countries and capital cities of the United Kingdom and its surrounding seas.
