Room On The Broom Welly Fun

We had one of the best Welly Fun! sessions ever during National Storytelling Week! We started by playing 'duck, duck, goose' but changed duck and goose to the characters from the story. Then we read the book and made magical potions with bit of science...but mostly magic! After this, just like in the story, we made a new witches broom but we used materials from our field. We then all made magical wands and used our magical powers to pop bubbles. Later on we had witches broom races...it felt like we were at Hogwarts, not nursery! Finally we finished off with a reflection about the session by passing around a cauldron. Later on, some children also made a story hill of the book. All the children used lots of language from casting spells to making potions...was magical!
