Remembrance

This week, we have remembered and learnt about those who fought in the war. We have remembered those who lost their lives fighting for our country. The children have enjoyed learning about the past, why remembrance is so important and how the poppies grew.

In Caterpillar club, the children used their craft skills to create poppies. Within our English lessons, the children created poppy wreaths (Year 1) and poppy non-fiction booklets (Year 2) with lots of facts and information they had learnt over the week. In Woodpeckers, the children have really enjoyed accessing our 'tuff spot' where they were able to draw a poppy in the red sand or make the shape of a poppy using red sticks and green sticks for the green leaf. The children also thought about how the soldiers felt.

All the children were really respectful and held our two minutes silence during our assembly.
