Outdoor Learning - Week 3

This week in our 'Fresh Air Thursday' session, we thought about what it is like at the seaside and what we eat and play with when we are on holiday. The children thought of some marvellous things including ice-cream, buckets and spades, paddling in the sea and flying kites on the beach. Today, we used recyclable paper, twigs, string, sellotape and natural resources/objects on our field to make our very own kites in pairs. We needed to work as a team and think carefully about how we were going to link and connect all of our resources together without it becoming too heavy or floppy! It was a challenge but we had so much fun!

After we had finished making our kites, we thought the best way to try them out and see if they fly, is fly them!!

We all stood together and flew our kites. Some of the children then went away, made adjustments and alternations before coming back to join the 'kite, flight race'!
