Ladybirds

Story Of The Week

For our story of the week we wore masks of the characters in the story!

We then went to our small world area to act out the story using stick puppets!

During another story time we voted for a book using ladybirds, counting to find the total!

In another, we read a non fiction book then shared facts as we made ladybird artwork!

We learnt lots from our books...

...and wrote fact files!

Maths Time

During carpet time we counted the spots on a ladybird then found the matching numeral!

We continued this in our play by writing number sentences at the maths table!

ICT

During ICT we decorated ladybirds!

We remembered the ladybird’s features such as ‘wings’ and ‘wing covers’...

...and used the different pens to design our own ladybird!

Science

During science, we sorted minibeasts based on their features...

...such as ‘has wings’ and ‘does not have wings’.

In the sand area we went on a minibeast hunt!

When we found one, we used a view finder to look at it...

...then identify it using the minibeast photos!

Welly Fun!

During Welly Fun! we planted sunflower seeds!

We learnt about what a seed need to grow healthily...

...and each planted 2 in our pot!

Ladybird Play

Building in the role play area!

Becoming bees in the beehive!

Enjoying puzzles in the role play!

Making ladybird sun catchers at the workshop!
