Today we celebrated VE day and that today marks 75 years since the war ended. We started the day by reflecting on this and writing a poem in two groups. We then came together to share these. We then painted a sunset background, so that it could dry for us to put on silhouette soldiers and war planes. After playtime we decorated our very own VE day party plates and then made our own sandwiches for our street party (in the playground of course). We made cheese and ham sandwiches...yum!
This afternoon we made medals and played some games. We then picked the rhubarb on our school field as the weather has made it grow lots, so we looked at the stems and had a little smell...it smelt beautiful.
