Making a den for an animal to sleep in
This week in our outdoor learning session, we were thinking about where animals sleep and hibernate in the winter when the seasons change, the weather becomes colder and autumn and winter are just around the corner. We discussed what animals might need or use a den. Our activity today was to use the natural environment around us to create a den or shelter for a small animal to sleep in. We thought about the shape of the den, how the animal would get in and out and how they would keep warm and be cosy throughout the winter.
