Chemical Reactions

So, this week we were thinking and experimenting with chemical reactions!!!!

We predicted what might happen when bicarbonate of soda and the vinegar are mixed.

Bicarbonate of soda is a base and vinegar is an acid. When a base and an acid are mixed, it creates a by-product of carbon dioxide, which causes the mixture to overflow just like a shaken pop bottle.

We carefully measured the bicarbonate of soda into the container.  We added the vinegar slowly, a little at a time and waited for the reaction.

Bubbly liquid flowing everywhere!!!!
