We used our tablet tablet to paint a butterfly...

...selecting and using the different functions of pens!

We made our butterfly the same on both sides, and remembered that is called symmetrical!

The children even directed the grown up on how to make a symmetrical butterfly!

Workshop

We made symmetrical butterflies by printing shapes...

...then folding the paper to print the pattern on the other wing...

...then opening it up to reveal a symmetrical butterfly!

We continued by naming the shapes we used and describing their properties!

Story Times

During one story time we voted for a book to read!

We picked a curly caterpillar, placed it with the book we wanted to listen to...

...counted the caterpillar votes for each book...

...then worked out the winning book by saying which has the most votes!

During another story we read ‘The Very Hungry’ caterpillar...

...and acted the story out using props...

...and by feeding the caterpillar food!

After the story...

...we put butterfly lifecycle photos in order...

...and used our key vocabulary!
