“Together We Achieve”

The Graduated Response SEND Identification

Once a potential special educational need is identified, four types of action should be taken to put effective support in place – Assess, Plan, Do Review – this is the graduated response. The new SEN Code of Practice continues to recognise four broad areas of need: Communication and interaction, Cognition and learning, Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) and Sensory and/or physical.
