Children's Mental Health Week

This week we have completed lots of different activities that help us to regulate and manage our feelings and emotions. Have a look on the following pages to see what we have been doing.

Brain Break Wheel - Breathing

Breathing

We can help our mental health by learning to control our breathing. This week we used a brain break wheel with different ways of breathing on it. We watched how to do dragon breath, bee breath and many more. Have a look at the pictures of the children trying them out.

Being Active

This week we used some active breaks on the Derby and Derbyshire Wellbeing website. These active breaks are linked to SMILERS which we follow in our school. Being active is a good way to improve our wellbeing.

Hula Hoop Connections

We made a circle and all held hands to make a connection. In the circle was a hula hoop. We had to pass the hoop around without letting go of our hands. We had to work with the people who were next to us. Some children were really good at this and some children were good at working as a team.

Yoga

We used a yoga video to help us to relax. There are many different yoga videos on the internet that you can try at home. This is a great way to calm down and relax.

Express Yourself

On the final day of Children's mental health week we dressed to express. The children could choose what they wanted to wear for school. This was for them to show who they are and how they feel.
