At home you could go on a walk and collect natural materials such as conkers. Use these natural materials for counting; encouraging your child to touch each object as they say the number name, and finding the matching number for the total.
At home you could go pumpkin picking or buy autumnal vegetables from the shops; encouraging your child to describe the colours they see and textures they feel as they explore the vegetables. You could also decorate the vegetables using craft materials or carve them using tools; encouraging your child to create their own designs.
Reading Volunteer
Our governor, Alan, read a spooky story...so the children asked for the lights off!
At home you can enjoy spooky stories together and enhance these e.g. by turning the lights out and using torches; encouraging your child to talk about the characters, settings and events of the book.
